Updates for SRC 2025

Captains‛ Newsletter

April 2025

Welcome to the new SRC golf season.

There are some major changes introduced for this season. Most divisions have 5 teams and each team will NOT play at the club listed below them on the website. All teams in both 4 and 5-team divisions play 4 matches. There are a few 4-team divisions and they will play all the clubs listed in their division. The top 2 teams in each division will enter the regional playoffs as listed on the website. The top 3 teams in the Central Region playoff and the top 2 teams in the other Regions’ playoffs will go to the Championship. Since we do not have a “host” team at the Grandview location the Rules & Games committee will determine the selection process for the 12th team at the Championship.

The following Captains’ responsibilities require your attention:

  • Ensure your captain and his information is up to date on the website.
  • Ensure all team members emails and birthdates are properly entered on the website
  • Acquire the date of your home match and list it onto the website as soon as possible.
  • Forward via E-transfer the $640 team administrative/entry fee to the SRC treasurer at trimblewjohn@gmail.com
  • Clubs with 2 teams must review the revised guidelines on the website.
    • Captains of team “A” MUST identify/list their 8 team members by June 1 and forward to Chris Parris snicparris@rogers.com.
    • Team “A” players CANNOT play for Team “B” during the regular season, playoff or championship.
    • Any eligible senior can play for Team “A” in the playoffs and Championship
    • All players are limited to 4 regular season matches.
  • The listing of players into the S1, S2 and S3 slots will be up to the captain’s discretion.
  • The requirement for Golf Canada membership by all players/clubs has been tabled for further discussion.

We have acquired the support of generous sponsors in the form of monetary contributions and products for prizes. They would appreciate your support and as such we will issue marketing information through Constant Contact (emails) for your consideration.

We are always looking for future playoff and championship locations. Hosting an SRC event is a benefit to your club. If there is interest and support, we would like to discuss a 2026 season hostingopportunity. Please direct your interest to Tom Nederpel tfn8491@gmail.com.

Play well and enjoy the camaraderie, Tom Nederpel, President SRC1999
